Main functions of the device

  • Emergency and voice calling (VoIP SIP) — Connects emergency button (e.g., ALARM on an SOS pillar) with an intercom and enables two‑way voice communication over an IP network to a monitoring centre, service desk, or emergency services.

  • Video support — Allows connection of an external USB camera and continuous video streaming via RTSP (e.g., for surveillance players such as VLC).

  • Voice announcements and tones — Enables uploading and playback of custom acoustic tones or voice messages from a hidden microSD card (e.g., button‑press confirmation or call‑setup messages).

  • Remote control via DTMF — The alarm state (ALARM) can be remotely acknowledged or cancelled by entering a numeric code on the phone during a call (e.g., codes 44 and 55).

  • Email notifications — Sends an email alert when a call is missed; if a camera is connected, it attaches a current snapshot.

  • Monitoring and supervision — Supports SNMP for remote monitoring of device and network status by an administrator.

Technical characteristics

  • Power supply — Either via Ethernet cable (48V PoE) or an external 12–24 VDC power source.

  • Connectivity — Connects to the ReMic intercom using 4 wires (SRGM – Signalling, Speaker, Ground, Microphone).

  • Relays — 2 relays.

  • Inputs — 4 inputs.

  • External button input — 1 dedicated input for connecting an external button to the ReMic intercom.

Typical use cases of the IP Audio‑Video KIT

1. SOS and emergency pillars (Urban infrastructure and highways)

Use: The main board is installed directly inside outdoor SOS call stations.

Scenario: A person in distress presses a single button. The system immediately establishes a two‑way SIP voice call with a monitoring centre or emergency services.

Video: A connected USB camera continuously streams video via RTSP, allowing the operator to instantly assess the situation.

2. Information and self‑service kiosks (Smart Cities and transportation)

Use: Integration into ticket machines, parking terminals, or city info‑kiosks.

Scenario: In case of a technical issue or navigation question, the user initiates an assisted support call.

Added value: Using relays and inputs, the operator can remotely reset a barrier, open service doors, or confirm a transaction via DTMF numeric codes.

3. Elevator emergency systems

Use: Installed behind the front panel of an elevator cabin and connected to the ReMic intercom.

Scenario: When passengers are trapped, the KIT ensures emergency communication with the service centre. Automatic voice messages stored on the microSD card can calm passengers (e.g., “Your request has been registered, connecting you to the dispatcher”).

Safety: SNMP support ensures the building’s IT administrator always has visibility into the device’s status and online availability.

4. Custom door intercoms and site entrances

Use: For developing custom‑designed intercoms where standard enclosures do not meet aesthetic or dimensional requirements (wall‑mounted or behind front panels).

Scenario: The 4 inputs and 2 relays allow independent control of a vehicle gate and a pedestrian gate. When a call is missed, the system sends an email notification with a snapshot from the USB camera directly to the property owner.
